Carnaval in Cajamarca

Micah and I couldn't miss the celebrations of carnaval in Cajamarca, which is known as the capital of Peruvian Carnaval. Celebrations can start as early as the month of January, but the main events take place the last week before the start of Lent. The celebrations are non-stop and include numerous parades, dancing in the Plaza de Armas, and throwing water balloons and paint at other people among many other traditional activities.
